IMG_8923August’s Birchbox theme is Finishing School. Birchbox doesn’t want us to think about old-school finishing school, just a reminder to think about the little details and finishing touches. I thought the August Birchbox theme was cute, plus it came with two Ann Taylor coupons. Which you can use by entering coupon code BIRCHBOX at anntaylor.com.

My August Birchbox had 4 Birchbox selections and a Birchbox Beauty Extra!

I am totally loving the new style of Birchbox. Just a quick update if you only read my Birchbox reviews, I totally bought the Ceramidin Cream from the July Birchbox. It made my July Subscription Faves list!IMG_8921

I need a wife if I’m going to focus on finishing touches. Just saying. My place is a train wreck. I wish it was a lot more zen.

I love the short, to the point Birchbox information card.IMG_8928

Mally Beauty Evercolor Starlight Watercolor Eye Liner $15 – in Sailor Blue – Waterproof eyeliner. I agree that navy is the new black because this is the second blue liner I got this month. Must be a must have!  It’s a great formula!

Whish Correcting Gel $1.6 – This is an anti-aging correcting gel. It smells divine and is so soothing. I might buy it but I’m a little miffed it’s so tiny. I know there was an eyeliner but… this is so great I want more! Is this the second month with a crazy homerun from Birchbox? Just might be!!! Lucky me, I can get a free Ann Taylor Scarf by spending $85 or more in the Birchbox shop with coupon code ANNTAYLOR.

Uniq One by Revlon $0.70 – Leave in spray mask for hair. Birchbox, you & I need to have a talk. Please never send me anything for my hair again. IMG_8927Ah, my pillowpack. Cute chevron color, no?

I got more Whish – hair inhibiting deodorant swipes  (worth a buck)- awesome, will use tomorrow, and 2 packets of (MALIN+GOETZ) Vitamin E face moisturizer. This stuff is $45 for a huge bottle and so the 2 packets are worth $1 together. It’s made without traditionally greasy oils and supposed to easily integrate into your existing regimen. Neat!

My August Birchbox was worth about $20 and I will use everything but the hair stuff. I may be convinced to try it this month, but it’s unlikely. I can’t get Birchbox to stop sending it to me, so I just give it to my friends. Birchbox more than makes up for this terrible downfall for sending me awesome new skin care stuff, which I’m loving.

A tip, if you want the more high-endy products like I get, change your Birchbox profile to indicate you are swimming in dough!

OMG-I am going to change my profile to the maximum income! Thanks for the tip! Although-they did send you revlon…I will be posting my review as soon as kiddos get to bed…and stay there…for more than 5 minutes!

Yeah, the Revlon thing is kind of weird. But I feel less cranky about getting cheap hair stuff than spendy hair stuff. I haven’t had a knot in my hair in ten years. It doesn’t need smoothed, tamed, whatever. My profile says it’s fine. It needs VOLUME. Hairspray is fine, but all these hair serums, pffft. I don’t even use conditioner.
