The theme was Freewheeling – taking a playful approach to everything from our beauty routine to our weekend wear. And this matches my beauty attitude right now. I’m in a try everything at least once mood. My boxes were great, and my real criticism – they shipped late, and I did not get compensation points on either account, while others received 100 points without even asking. It made it somewhat better that the boxes were really great. Even though I didn’t get them in mine, some people scored Cynthia Rowley Beauty eyeliners, Noya Lipgloss, and all sorts of crazy awesome stuff.  I got six items in each of my boxes, so that’s 60 points for doing the reviews – an equivalent of $6 back in the Birchbox shop on each account! Plus I get about a dollar back in points because I have an annual subscription – you only get points when you buy the box on a yearly subscription! I had a couple low months at the beginning of the year, but my boxes have improved steadily!
Inside each box was a $25 off $75 coupon (unique) to Kate Spades’ Saturday. It’s all about yellow and b&w zig-zags.

May 2014 Birchbox Review #1 – My Box
A little loud, but super fun!
I only took a photo of my main box – the one on the annual subscription. This box is set to my personal preferences. The second box is set to a profile of my teenaged niece.
I just kept opening products! I was so impressed! 6 all together!
Marcelle New·Age 8 in 1 Power Serum ($8.16) Peptide-packed antiaging gel starts to work in just a week! I probably used too much but it went on super smooth and I liked it! In my box there was a bonus offer for a free Marcelle Lux Gloss Cream in Bellissima wyb any Marcelle product – use code MARCELLE.
Caldrea Body Wash ($1.59) & Body Lotion ($0.69) I love Caldrea anything! These were different scents but I didn’t really care. Now Tea Olive Lime scent is a must try for me!
PIXI Beauty Shea Butter Lip Balm ($8) In Pixi Pink! And it’s super duper schmooper pinky pink! It also smells delicious and is deliciously hydrating with shea butter! Full size!
Supergoop!® Everyday SPF 30 with Cellular Response Technology ($0.91) I love that this sample is in a tube and not a foil packet now! I keep my sunscreen samples in my stroller and if I don’t use the whole thing, I like to save it. I love Supergoop! It’s a great lightweight sunscreen.
Votivo Candle Travel Tin ($2.25) This is a 3/4 oz travel votive, which is nice for a hotel bathroom! It’s in the scent azure garden, a blend of grass, blueberries, and grape hyacinth with floral scents, grounded in teakwood and vetiver. Pretty & fun! I love getting candles!
At $21.60, a somewhat low value but super usable Birchbox, so I was totally happy with it!
May 2014 Birchbox Review #2
The second Birchbox was ordered for the sole purpose of snagging this sweet tray! It’s so cute, I die! BTW This was Birchbox #34.
Obviously it’s not for your phone, it’s just to show the size.
I was maybe even happier with this box than I was with my own, because basically I’m still a teenager.
LAQA & Co. Sheer Lip Lube Pencil ($18) According to the size on the tube, this is full size! It’s in purple “Menatour”and gives high gloss and sheer color, no sharpener. It was honestly perfect for this profile! Great minty smell, too.
CoTZ Face Natural Skin Tone SPF 40 ($0.94) I had a foil packet of this a while ago, randomly used it, and fell in love. It’s an amazing kind of velvety SPF. It’s a self-adjusting formula and you can wear it under makeup or by itself. Psst there is a light and a sensitive version if you need this straight off. You do.
Number 4 Volumizing Shampoo… ($1 if it weren’t missing from the box!)
Number 4 Volumizing Condition ($1.06) yes they are different prices, no I don’t know why, yes it’s “Condition” and not “Conditioner”! I had Number 4 in my Birchbox last month and loved it, and I will love this one, even if I don’t get the shampoo (I emailed in about it).
Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream ($2.90) Now if Costco had the value packs in acai grapefruit, I’d be all over them. I’m obsessed with grapefruit everything right now! Whish is great, love this brand.
SmartyPants All-in-One Gummy Vitamins for Adults ($0.50) I love gummy vitamins, but again, great for this “teen” profile!!
My second Birchbox was worth $24.40!  And I loved that one too! I don’t typically get two boxes – it is too much for me, but it was fun!

did you order the second birchbox seperate or do you have two subscriptions? I was just curious how that worked, that little tray is adorable, my birchbox was still different that both of yours, we got a couple of the same things like I got the pixi lip balm in a different color, which by the way i love and the super goop product and the gummy vitamins. But i wish i would of gotten that cute little candle and the lip crayon, for some reason I’m obbessed with lip crayons! 🙂 So glad i found your blog, i love reading all your reviews! Also how did you know you would get the little tray in the 2nd one?
I do have a second account which I use to purchase single boxes whenever there’s a subscription deal (like subscribe and get a free XYZ, like the tray). There was a code. I canceled that one and then signed up again (same account) because there was a $5 code. I will cancel it after I do my points. I have the profile on the second one set to a teenager that makes no money and mine is the complete opposite because I love the really high end stuff. 🙂

I opened a second Birchbox account just to get the cute little tray too. Only it didn’t arrive! I emailed BB and they said that it was on its way separately. *Fingers crossed*

That second box looks almost identical as mine except I got an additional bottle of Number 4 shampoo, Weird.
Yes, I emailed them about the missing item, it shows in my box online. I don’t think I’ve ever had a missing item like that before.
