2014 Fall Style Popsugar Must Have Special Edition Box Review #musthavebox

Popsugar’s Fall Style box is here! Fall, please come, I’m ready! I’m actually still enjoying my monthly box but I totally get excited about the Popsugar Special Edition boxes because they are full of fun really luxury items that typically don’t appear in any other subscriptions. Basically it’s like shopping from a magazine without any work. I think anyone who gets lots of boxes like me will say that they are much more comfortable styling things etc with a whole library from which to work from! You can see that everything in the box is really nicely wrapped and the box itself is a premium reusable box. These are keepers and I use them to organize my shelves.

This is a great box. I know people sometimes feel let down, but not every box is for everyone. I know lots of people who just like the Popsugar LE boxes or just the regular Must Haves. I like both and I think everyone’s response is perfectly OK. 

Joie Knit Cap ($98) I love this cap! I actually look good in caps so I was excited to get it. Plus it’s really soft. It’s a little large so I rolled it up on my head. I totally put it on and slapped on the lipstick (below) and my husband thought I was adorable. Then the plumber came and it got weird. But he also gave me a free toilet seal replacement because I’m so giant (38 weeeeeeks!), so it all turned out ok.

Indie Lee Brightening Face Cleanser ($32) Totally pumped about this. It specifically says to use it with your face brush (i.e., your Clarisonic). I actually have a whole post on my Clarisonic and if you’re thinking about getting one, you should read it. I update it seasonally so I guess it’s time! I cannot wait to try it, but I’m waiting until we have a new shower head. Currently rinsing off is… not happening in my shower.

Marchesa Voyage for Shopstyle Scarf  ($140) I like that this scarf is the long kind. I think the price tag is ridiculous. It’s a thin gauzey scarf. That being said I really like it and will totally wear it.

Capsule Perfumes Byway Eau de Parfum ($38) Originally this perfume’s description said something about being lapdance inspired (um, it really doesn’t even smell like a lapdance!). It’s like a spun sugar cotton candy perfume and that’s why I think it’s in the fall box. I would have preferred a luxury home item scented for fall. 

MAKE Silk Cream Lipstick in Radicchio ($25) This color looks great on me! I’m super happy with it. The formula was also extremely creamy. I loved it. LOVED. It’s an “intense brick with red undertones.” I am very strongly considering purchasing (it’s available at Birchbox!) an additional color. I am very fond of raisin colors and they have a great looking one (Hudson Wine).

Oh, a shoe, just like Nina Garcia’s Quarterly! But better! 

Sugarpova Chic Gummy Candy ($6) “A portion of sales from the Sugarpova collection will be donated to the Maria Sharapova Foundation, furthering her ongoing dedication to a charitable cause close to her heart.” Who knows what it is. These purse/shoe/shade gummies were cute but they also have adorable tennis balls. Also can I say things like #shedidnteatthat ? Maria Sharapova is the highest paid female athlete because she knows how to market and has impeccable style. And good taste (literally) – we destroyed these!

This was a fun box. It maybe could have been a little cozier and fall, but fall is also about fashion week! Even though after a bunch of travel I totally changed my mind about the gazillion pouches I received in my big boxes last season, I was happy that my Fall Popsugar box had no pouch. The value of the box was $340, but that’s including the overpriced $140 scarf. I’m still happy with the box, but I’d like to see a little more attention to value and theme in future special editions.
