Nerd Block Jr is a subscription box for boys or girls (you pick the box) with fun “nerdy” tchotkes just for them.  I haven’t picked up a Nerd Block in a while (love the main box!) so I thought I’d get a Jr Block, as I’d never tried it out. I wasn’t particularly wowed by this one, unfortunately. Gripe 1 – Why do subscription boxes design really cool boxes and forget that they need mailing labels on them? Can we not reserve a spot for the label? Mmmmkay? I know, it’s a small gripe, but it’s a little detail that goes a long way with me!

Gripe 2 – Why can Nerd Block not figure out how to ship like a family block, or multiple blocks, all together, to save on the insane shipping costs from Canada? Because I sure would like to get one or 2 of the Jr blocks plus a grown up block. But I’m not really going to blow $14-$20 on shipping. Ok, done with the generic gripes, lets get to the October Nerd Block Jr gripes.

DreamWorks Dragons Book ($5.88) This is my fave item in this box, because it’s a book 🙂 I also LOVE this movie. LOVE IT. Ok, this box isn’t about me. Boys will love it too. It’s a short graphic novel – peek at it below. It’s also pre-release so I think that’s cool.

Costume Face Tattoos ($12) Not only is this ugly, my son would think it’s terrifying. Also, way too much “value” for a bunch of tattoos.

Super Mario Mini Figure ($7.99) Luigi. Meh. OMG I am terrible. But this is not my favorite.  IMG_6318

Nitro Grinders ($3) Can I be terrible and say that these are just as stupid as those little finger skateboards but boys love them?IMG_6319

Ninja Turtle Keychain ($8) This is fun because you can clip it on your backpack, etc!IMG_6320

Funny enough, I think for our purposes we prefer the larger Nerd Block. We get the shirt and it seems more stuff that my kiddo likes – he’s really into the Funko Pop Figurines and blind box items!

My son also receives this. While I was not a big fan of the weird tubelike rolly thing, my son absolutely loved it. The Ninja Turtle clip plush was awesome. My favorite(and my son’s) was the Dragon novel. The artwork in it is way more then I expected it to be before we opened the book up. I liked this one except for the weird face tattoos.

What did you get this month? I was still a little meh on it. We saved the Dragon graphic novel for my daughter for Christmas. And did you get the face tattoos that I did? I saw another example of them and they were much better. The ones I got were gross!!!

We got the same face tattoos you did. I don’t like them at all. My sister bought him a set of face tattoos last year by the same company that were super hero themed and those were much nicer. I didn’t get this month’s Nerd Block in yet. I live on the east coast of NC and the mail tends to get here a little later then everywhere else.
