Hooray, I have Stitch Fix back in my life! And my first post-baby Fix was fabulous! I was really happy about that because my last one was just atrocious. I went back into Stitch Fix a few weeks ago to adjust my profile and noticed a few great improvements for this personal styling service. Specifically that I could avoid bottoms. I have a few great pairs of pants (in every size!) that work perfectly for my weird squat shape and they are really hard to find, so I do prefer to source those items myself. There were also more detailed yes/no to accessory items. I will probably branch out more in the future, but for my first fix back I wanted CLOTHES!!!

Here’s how Stitch Fix works: fill out your style profile! This includes style, budget, what you’re looking for, and you can get as detailed as you want with the notes to your stylist. It really really does help to provide notes to what you’re seeking, and a Pinterest board if you have one! You will be charged a $20 styling fee and shipped five items to try on at home. If you keep anything your styling fee will be applied to your order, but if you don’t, you will pay the $20 fee. This is so worth it. If you keep everything you get a 25% discount, so it pays off to be specific. You will check out and get charged through your Stitch Fix account.

I filled out my Style Profile probably in the middle of the night, and made some odd requests, like Boho Chic (really Brandy?). I was feeling adventurous and my baby was a week old (I also noted that I was still needing looser clothing). I do put one thing that never varies on my card: No White, No Sheer, No Drycleaning, Ever. It’s just. Not. Happening.  I was pleased beyond measure at what was in my box just looking at the card. I love how each piece gets styling options. ALSO head’s up – the earliest fix I could get was a week out! So go sign up and get on the schedule if you want to try it out!IMG_7184

41Hawthorn Berneen Printed Dolman Sleeve Top ($58) I love this! It fits well and drapes over all my bumpy parts, and I absolutely adore this pattern. Basketweave with a Greek influence?IMG_7183

Super cute and perfect to wear over leggings. The only thing I didn’t like is that the styling card was for warmer climates. It’s OK, I wear a coat (I need a fashionable coat – do they do that?! We’ll find out next month!). KEEPING.IMG_7182

Market and Spruce Benzer Mixed Material Sweater ($78) Eeek no! I liked this on the style card a whole lot but not in person. The thing at the bottom was too bright, the sweater was too tight. RETURNING.IMG_7181

Honey Punch Layla Twin Stripe & Elbow Patch Cardigan ($48) This is the first item I plucked from the pile and I love it. I’m going to get dolled up for a Target Christmas Toy run and wear it. I love the color and style and the elbow patches are TOO CUTE! OBVIOUSLY KEEPING.IMG_7186

Collective Concepts Esten Button-Up Sleeveless Blouse ($54)  When I pulled this out I fell in luuuurve. And then I thought man, this is wildly familiar. It’s almost exactly the same top as what I just got in my Wardrobe Wakeup, but it’s a ridiculously AWESOME COLOR OF PURPLE (a color I will actually wear), no stupid sheer panels, perfect for my wardrobe and my job (I did, as opposed to the past, request work friendly wear), fits great, looks great, and cost me a total of $54 to own. This was a major score to me.IMG_7185

Skies are Blue Cullen Color Block Scoop Neck Sweater ($58) I actually wanted to like this. It did break my No White Rule but I guess it was Ivory. The front white panel actually made a nice hourglass looking shape, but it was a little too snug on my jiggly belly and the arms were REALLY long. RETURNING.

My only real complaint with this fix is this mess in the stylist’s notes about a “fall transitional piece.” Look y’all, it’s COLD up here. It’s not the Bay Area – It’s 40 degrees out and its almost noon. I did leave this feedback when I checked out. It doesn’t mean I won’t use the pieces but as Stitch Fix grows, I think they should be a little more cognizant of different weather conditions – we are definitely not transitioning to fall, that ship has sailed!!! (I am SUCH a baby about the weather!)  I kept 3 items for a total of $160 and am totally pumped about these new wardrobe additions. I have my monthly fixes set up again and I’m excited about the next one already!

So happy you are back in the magical world of Stitch Fix. You know I am a fan :)) Totally love the cardigan you are keeping. Love the shape, and the color mix on it, and a huge plus is how cozy it looks. XOXO, Elif

I totally agree with your weather comment!! My fix before last I asked for cozy clothes for the upcoming cold season in New England….this girl sent me 3 sheer tops! I actually complained because I specifically said NO sheer tops this fix. They gave me a $20 credit and this fix was better. I did get an awesome heavy open cardi by 41 Hawthorne that passed the test!

Ooooh that sounds really nice!! I may have to add a note about something like that. I asked if they did coats, I think we’ll find out. I cannot believe I have to wait a month!! I did wear my new cardigan all day, I love it. It’s like polished loungey.
