December 2014 Socialbliss Style Box Review #TheStyleBox

The Socialbliss Style Box is a fashion-centric subscription box with a mix of fashiony accessories and other items for “style.” In my opinion, you shouldn’t subscribe – the box isn’t worth the cost of the subscription. The pieces are quite cheap and seem more so every month. And cheap is fine – just not when it’s so costly.

Ornament Jewels Set ($20) This is actually really cute, but super duper cheap feeling – it’s very light. I lost some detail in this photo. This is the only thing in the box I will keep.

Snowflake Stencil Earrings ($18) These aren’t really supposed to be snowflakes, they’re imported Indian style earrings – cute, but cheap! I love the purple. I felt they knew I was pissy with the last box and maybe tried to give me purple things so I’d be happier (yes, they read my review because they emailed me).

Open Teardrop Bangle ($15) This is pretty and I wanted to like it but ummm, it’s cheap. Seriously. Do you see the line in the middle of the bangle? It’s actually a piece of shaped metal instead of a thicker piece, and because it’s so lightweight the top falls to the bottom.

I cannot even begin to describe the atrocity of the seasonal statement scarf ($27). it says “wrap it around your neck from the front and pull the two ends around.” It sticks out in bizarre and unattractive ways, and the whole thing has got to be a joke.  I felt like this would be a great scarf for Steven Segal.

Minaudiere Bag ($35)  I like the idea, but the execution is poor – the big huge button is meh for me. And let’s beat this horse to death – it’s super cheap. Previous boxes included really adorable bags – even if they are buying things now at the same prices, they just aren’t picking out the right items.

Unlike the amazing boxes at launch, this box now feels like the buyers are just buying the cheapest import crap they can get, sticking new names on it, and selling it for almost FIFTY DOLLARS a month. That’s crazy. Spend your money on something else. Try Little Lace Box. Try Popsugar. Try FabFitFun VIP box. There are over 700 boxes in the directory. Find something better!
